ABSTRACT

This paper analyzes the determining factors of the innovation decision in the hospitality industry. To this end, we designed an original analytic model which considers the joint effect of both internal and external factors on the innovation decision in the hospitality industry. In order to test the proposed model, a binomial logistic regression was carried out. The empirical study is based on a sample of 443 Spanish firms, taken from the Technological Innovation Survey of Spanish firms 2000. Their results confirm a significant and positive relationship between the innovation decision in the hospitality industry and the factors of large firm size, belonging to a business group and certain organizational aspects.
