Desde la creación de la Journal of Behavior, Health & Social Issues (JBHSI) el Doctor J. C. Pedro Arriaga Ramírez junto al equipo editorial de la revista, han trabajado para que ésta tenga la calidad que hoy le caracteriza y que hace posible forme parte de nueve bases e índices bibliométricos. Con el comienzo del 2013, se cumple el período de cuatro años de gestión del Doctor Pedro Arriaga como editor general, y por medio de la presente quisiera destacar y agradecer la labor tan distinguida que desempeñó durante todo este tiempo.
También aprovecho este espacio, para expresar mi deseo de continuar y fortalecer el proceso editorial consolidado en los últimos años, es por ello que la revista mantendrá el sistema de revisión a doble ciego, incorporando al equipo de trabajo editores de sección.
El editor general tornará a un editor de sección versiones anónimas de los escritos recibidos, los editores de sección a su vez, someterán el artículo a la revisión de tres especialistas en el área del manuscrito, y para que un artículo sea aceptado para su publicación, se requerirá al menos de dos recomendaciones favorables por parte de los revisores anónimos y la aprobación del editor a cargo. El proceso editorial es un trabajo conjunto y su éxito depende de que cada parte involucrada cumpla con el papel que le corresponde desempeñar, desde la eficacia del cuerpo editorial en el manejo de los documentos, la calidad y tiempos de revisión de los revisores y los envíos de las modificaciones efectuadas por los autores. En ese sentido, el equipo editorial se responsabiliza de agilizar el manejo de los manuscritos, y se alienta a los revisores a cumplir con los tiempos sugeridos y a los autores a fundamentar la versión revisada de sus manuscritos.
Por último quisiera agregar que la evolución de las tecnologías informáticas ha permitido una gran facilidad de acceso a la información, lo cual plantea la necesidad de desarrollar y mantener fuentes confiables que ofrezcan y difundan información de calidad para el progreso de las ciencias. Comprometidos con ese planteamiento, la JBHSI se mantendrá en continuo movimiento para renovarse cuando lo requiera y tratar de alcanzar así la mejor versión posible de sí misma. Since the creation of the Journal of Behavior, Health & Social Issues (JBHSI), Doctor J. C. Pedro Arriaga Ramirez together with the journal’s editorial team, have worked to achieve the quality that characterizes and makes possible the journal to appear in nine indexes and bibliometric bases.
With the beginning of the 2013, the four year period of Dr. Pedro Arriaga management as editor in chief is completed, and hereby I want to highlight and thank his distinguished work during this time. I also take this space to express my will to continue and strengthen the editorial process consolidated in recent years, which is why the journal review system will maintain the double-blind procedure, incorporating to the team section editors.
The editor in chief would turn to section editors an anonymous version of the submission received, the section editors will send the article for review to three specialists on the manuscript area, acceptance for publication will require at least two positive evaluations from the anonymous reviewers and the editor in charge approval.
The editorial process is a joint effort and its success lies on that each party involved complies with the role they are supposed to perform, from the effectiveness of the editorial in the documents handling, the quality and time of reviewing process and the submission of corrections made by the authors. In that sense, the editorial team takes the responsibility for expediting the manuscripts handling, and strongly encouraged reviewers to meet suggested times and authors to support their revised version of their manuscript.
Finally, I would add that the development of informational technology has enabled easy access to information; this raises the need to develop and maintain reliable sources which provide and spread quality information for the science progress.
