Ciento treinta pacientes eran varones y 145 mujeres, con edades comprendidas entre los 20 y 71 años (media, 45 años). Las variables analizadas fueron edad, sexo, segmento vertebral estudiado, afección del saco dural, raíces nerviosas intradura-les, emergencias radiculares y presencia de lesiones intradurales, quistes meníngeos y estenosis del conducto. Se clasificó la información aportada por el estudio de RM-mielografía frente al de RM convencional en nueva o redundante, y relevante o no.</p> <span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle">Resultados</span><p id="spar0015" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">Con la RM-mielografía se obtuvo información nueva en 81 casos (32%), siendo esta información considerada irrelevante en 35 casos y en 46 casos (16,7% del total) relevante (amputaciones de emergencias radiculares y alteraciones de las raíces intradurales). All of them were studied with MR-myelography in 2 planes, coronal and sagittal, with a turbo spin-echo single-shot technique, as a complement to a conventional MR study of the spine; 130 were males and 145 women, with ages ranging from 20 to 71 years (mean, 45 years). The analyzed variables were age, sex, vertebral segment studied, alteration of the dural sac, intradural nerve roots, emergent roots, and presence of intradural lesions, meningeal cysts, and spinal stenosis. The added value of MR-myelography regarding conventional MR was categorized.</p> <span class="elsevierStyleSectionTitle">Results</span><p id="spar0035" class="elsevierStyleSimplePara elsevierViewall">MR-myelography obtained new information in 88 cases (32%), being considered irrelevant information in 42 cases and relevant in 46 cases (16.7% of all cases) (amputations of the emergent roots and alterations of the intradural roots).
