Abstract

Despite the large number of publications, there is controversy among clinicians regarding the application of lasers to the periodontal treatment. The aim of this review is to analyze the literature existent about this matter and to determine the state of the art concerning the laser application in non-surgical periodontal therapy.

Resumo

Apesar do elevado número de publicações existe controvérsia entre os clínicos no que respeita à aplicação de lasers no tratamento periodontal. O objectivo deste trabalho é de rever a literatura existente e determinar o estado da arte em relação à aplicação de lasers na terapia periodontal não cirúrgica.
