Identificar y cuantificar los métodos estadísticos utilizados en los artículos originales publicados en la revista Rehabilitación en los últimos 10 años. Realizamos una comparación de la utilización de estadística en dos períodos 1989-1994 y 1995-1999.

MétodosTodos los artículos originales publicados en la revista Rehabilitación en los últimos 10 años, fueron revisados por dos investigadores independientes para identificar y cuantificar el uso de los métodos estadísticos utilizados.
ResultadosDe los 376 artículos originales analizados, 238 (63%) corresponden al primer período (1989-1994) y 138 (37%) al segundo período (1994-1999). El 59% eran estudios retrospectivos, el 39% prospectivos y el 2% tras la lectura no podíamos determinar si habían sido prospectivos o retrospectivos. En 214 artículos (57%) solo se utilizó estadística descriptiva (porcentajes) y en los 162 restantes (43%) se emplearon una o más de una técnica estadística.

MethodsAll the original articles published in the journal «Rehabilitación» in the last 10 years were reviewed by two independent investigators to identify and quantify the use of the statistical methods used.
ResultsA total of 238 (63%) of the 376 original articles analyzed correspond to the first period (1989-1994) and 138 (37%) to the second one (1994-1999). 59% were retrospective studies, 39% prospective ones and, in 2%, it was not possible to determine whether they had been prospective or retrospective studies after reading them. Only descriptive statistics (percentages) were used in 214 articles (57%), and one or more statistical methods were used in the remaining 162 (43%).
