Se presenta el caso de un culturista que en su trabajo sufrió una caída con contusión del codo izquierdo y como consecuencia una rotura completa del tendón del tríceps braquial, que fue confirmada mediante estudio ecográfico. El paciente fue intervenido quirúrgicamente, realizándose reinserción con arpones metálicos en el olécranon e inmovilizado 4 semanas en ligera flexión, tras las cuales inició tratamiento rehabilitador. En el momento del alta laboral presentaba un balance articular y muscular completo. Se revisa la literatura actual sobre este tipo de lesión tan infrecuente, con especial atención al tratamiento rehabilitador.
The case of a body builder who suffered a fall at work with injury of left elbow and consequently a complete rupture of the brachial triceps tendon, that was confirmed by ultrasonographic study, is presented. He was operated on, performing reinsertion with metallic harpoons in the olecranon and was immobilized for 4 weeks in mild flexion, after which rehabilitation treatment was initiated. When he returned to work, he presented complete articular and muscular balance. The present literature on this type of very rare injury is reviewed, with special attention to the rehabilitation treatment.
