El dispositivo cardiac contractility modulation (CCM) es una terapia eléctrica para el tratamiento de pacientes con insuficiencia cardiaca (IC) moderada-grave, que ha demostrado una pequeña mejora en la tolerancia al ejercicio y la calidad de vida de estos pacientes. Las guías sobre el manejo de dispositivos cardiacos implantables no recogen ninguna recomendación acerca del CCM y solo un artículo hace referencia al manejo anestésico de estos pacientes. Exponemos un caso clínico sobre el manejo anestésico de un paciente portador de este dispositivo cardiaco. Consideramos que en el futuro será más frecuente encontrar pacientes portadores de dispositivos similares en la práctica anestésica.
The cardiac contractility modulation (CCM) device is an electrical therapy for the treatment of patients with moderate-severe heart failure (HF), which has been shown a small improvement in exercise tolerance and quality of life in these patients. The Guidelines about the management of implantable cardiac devices do not include any recommendations about CCM and only one article refers to the anesthetic management of these patients. We present a clinical case about the anesthetic management of a patient with this cardiac device. We believe that in the future it will be more common to find patients with similar devices in anesthesia practice.
