El presente trabajo es un estudio descriptivo y retrospective de las bajas por patología vocal de los maestros de Educación Primaria en la Ciudad Autónoma de Ceuta, territorio MEC, durante los cursos 98/99 y 99/00. En él se abordan diversos aspectos sobre trastornos de voz en el colectivo docente, tales como: comprensión general de la patología vocal en el profesorado, incidencia de la misma sobre el colectivo, análisis de la distribución de bajas por género, edad, tipo de patología y duración de las mismas, así como comparación de estos resultados con otros estudios análogos. Finalmente, realizamos un análisis de la incidencia que este tipo de patologías tienen en los aspectos organizativos y algunas sugerencias o recomendaciones para mejorar este tipo de trastornos en el colectivo docente.
Los resultados del estudio arrojan las siguientes conclusiones. La patología vocal es significativamente superior en la mujer. En relación a la edad la franja comprendida entre 30-39 años es la más afectada y la media recogida es de 47 años, coincidente con estudios análogos. Se constata la alta tasa de la patología de la voz de los maestros que causan baja laboral por gripe y laringitis que habitualmente derivan en disfonías. Se pone de manifiesto la necesidad de establecer nuevos criterios de clasificación de las distintas patologías respiratorias y alteraciones de la voz que permitan un mejor seguimiento de las mismas en su análisis y evaluación, así como potenciar programas preventivos de higiene de la voz a este colectivo.
This paper is a descriptive and retrospective research on sick leaves due to vocal pathology of Primary Education teachers at the Autonomous City of Ceuta, MEC area, during the 98/99 and 99/00 academic years. Different aspects of voice problems of the teaching profession are considered, such as: general understading of the Vocal Pathology among the staff, its incidence on teachers, analysis of the results concerning the distribution of sick leaves by genre, age, type of pathology and its duration, as well as a comparison of the results with some other analogous studies. Finally, an analysis of the incidence of this type of pathologíes is made in relation to the organizational aspects of education and some suggestions or recommendations are presented to solve this type of problems of the teaching profession.
The results yield the following conclusions: Vocal pathologies are significantly higher in women; concerning age, the most affected range is from 30 to 39 years, and the average is 47 years, similar to analogous studies. A high rate of vocal pathology is detected in teachers on sick leaves due to influenza and laryngitis which normally led to dysphonias. The need to establish new criteria for the classification of the different breathing pathologies and voice alterations is clearly proved in order to facilitate a better analysis and evaluation, as well as the need to promote preventive programmes of voice hygiene for these teachers.
