Objetivo: Evaluar la incidencia de iDIC por siembra hematógena durante un EB tardío e identificar los factores de riesgo asociados a su presentación.</p><p id="par0010" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleBold">Material y métodos:</span><span class="elsevierStyleBold">Diseño:</span> Estudio observacional, prospectivo, multicéntrico realizado en 23 hospitales españoles (cohorte PROBAC) incluyendo todos los EB con significación clínica diagnosticados entre octubre 2016-mayo 2017.</p><p id="par0015" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleBold">Sujetos a estudio:</span> Pacientes portadores de DIC (marcapasos, DAI y válvulas protésicas) con un EB tardío. Se definió como iDIC si cumplía criterios clínicos y/o microbiológicos. Criterios clínicos: 1. Presencia de signos de infección en la bolsa del generador. 2. Criterios de Duke para endocarditis infecciosa. <span class="elsevierStyleUnderline">Criterios microbiológicos</span>: cultivo positivo del DIC. Se definió como EB tardío si ocurría más de un año después de la implantación o última manipulación del DIC.</p><p id="par0020" class="elsevierStylePara elsevierViewall"><span class="elsevierStyleBold">Análisis estadístico:</span> Univariable y multivariable mediante regresión logística Resultados: Se identificaron 317 EB en pacientes portadores de DIC, 187 (56,2%) fueron EB tardíos. Un total de 39 (20,9%) pacientes presentaron iDIC durante un EB tardío.
