The patient is a 71-year-old male with a history of lymphocytic leukemia. A follow-up computed tomography scan revealed a 30 × 35 mm lesion dependent on a loop of the small intestine (Fig. 1), which was suspected of being a gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST).
Exploratory laparoscopy was indicated, where a whitish, spongy, cystic-looking lesion was observed on the mesenteric margin of the jejunum, along with mesenteric lymphadenopathies (Fig. 2). We resected the affected segment. The histopathology results of the specimen were compatible with intestinal lymphangioma, which is a rare benign tumor in adults and described mainly in the head and neck of juvenile patients.
