Intestinal obstruction due to a bilateral Morgagni hernia 87 year old female presenting symptoms compatible with intestinal obstruction. A computed tomography (CT) is performed, showing an anterior diaphragmatic hernia (Fig. 1A, B) containing colon and causing and intestinal obstruction. An urgent surgery is performed, finding a double hernia defect with transverse colon inside (Fig. 1C); reparation of both defects is done.
Morgagni hernia is an infrequent and usually asymptomatic pathology. 8% of these are bilateral and can cause respiratory or digestive complications.
