Police hospitals have different hierarchies and organizational cultures from other hospitals. The purpose of this study is to explore the views of employees about the ideal leadership style of police hospitals in the transition period.
MethodThis study used qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The data collection process was carried out by in-depth interviews with six employees.
ResultsEmployees have the ideal leadership style of the police hospital. The ability to communicate plays a role as a media for transferring knowledge to employees, as well as building trust in leaders. In the experience of employees, a combination of the concept of transformational leadership style and transactional leadership style changes the hospital organization through the vision, mission, and the reward and punishment system.
ConclusionsThe combination of transformational and transactional leadership styles is a model of the ideal leadership style of the police hospital in Batu City.
