Abstract

This document presents empirical evidence about the motivations of academic researchers in Colombia, and their availability to generate and transfer knowledge to the productive sector within the framework of the relation between universities and companies. The data used in the study was collected through a survey of academic researchers listed in the database of the Administrative Department of Science, Technology and Innovation (colciencias). The data was examined by means of an analysis of canonical regressions. The analysis revealed that the knowledge transfer activities object of the study (consultancies and technology marketing) are complementary.
