For example, it is not the same a hypertensive patient with diffuse coronary artery disease than other with only one coronary lesion that is effectively revascularized. Despite both patients have hypertension and ischemic heart disease, and current BP goals do not differ among them,<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRefs" href="#bib0065"><span class="elsevierStyleSup">6,7</span></a> it is likely that an intensive BP reduction could be harmful in the first case, but not in the second.
