LOS VERBOS EN NIÑOS CON TRASTORNO DEL LENGUAJE

Este trabajo explora el uso del verbo en niños con trastorno del lenguaje a los 5 años de edad que siguen tratamiento. Se estudia qué tipos de verbos y argumentos utilizan a partir de las características semánticas-sintácticas y de aspectos relativos a la representación de los verbos (significado, selección argumental y tipo de evento) para analizar si existe una vulnerabilidad de tipo semántico o gramatical. Se postula que una de las posibles dificultades recae en el uso y despliegue del verbo en la oración de acuerdo con sus características formales pero también por los aspectos implicados a nivel conceptual y de representación de las actividades. Se han analizado diferentes tipos de verbos (según características semánticas y sintácticas) y los argumentos emitidos y omitidos de las producciones de 4 niños con TL (4;11) y de sus respectivos controles por edad y por LMEp. Los resultados muestran un patrón de producción diferenciado de los niños de los grupos de control: el de pobreza verbal y argumental asociada a errores de omisión y comisión, junto a la preferencia de tipologías de verbo simples semánticamente, con menor complejidad argumental y se sugiere una representación del verbo poco organizada y centrada en el proceso de acción en sí misma o en relación al agente más que al transcurso de la acción, las consecuencias y su fin. Se trata este tema con relación a la posible dificultad en la elaboración y manipulación de representaciones mentales relativas a los verbos. Se comenta finalmente la relevancia de estos datos de cara a como trabajar el análisis de las actividades y su formulación lingüística en la reeducación logopédica de los niños con trastorno del lenguaje.

This paper deals with the verb use of children with LI (Language Impairment) of 5 years of age under rehabilitation. The study focuses on the semantic and syntactic characteristics of the verbs and arguments used and also their mental representation in order to know if there is a major or minor semantic or grammatical vulnerability. It is argued that difficulties may lay in the verb use and unfolding following their formal characteristics but also influenced by its conceptual features and activity representation. The data consist on the verbs employed by 4 children with LI of 4 (4;11) years and their controls. The analysis has been done according to semantic categories and the correspondent argument structure. The results show a pattern of production that differs among LI and Controls: Verb and argument structure poverty, is associated with omission errors, together with the tendency to prefer the most simple verbs, both in semantic structure and argument structure. It is suggested that the verb representations are not well organized and centered in the activity itself or related to the Agent, instead of the action development, their consequences or goal. These results are discussed in function of the difficulties in the verb transformations and mental representation of them. Finally it is commented the relevance of these data in order to ask for better activity analysis and linguistic formulations in the course of the therapy with LI children.
