intercourse with a man who had human monkeypox, a 25-year-old male with odynophagia went to the emergency room, according to de Oliveira et al.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0005">1</a> According to de Oliveira et al., this case represents the first instance of an oropharynx/laryngeal presentation of human monkeypox infection in the literature.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0005">1</a> When monitoring a patient with odynophagia who has a high index of suspicion for human monkeypox infection, de Oliveira et al. advised doctors to be mindful of this potential presentation.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0005">1</a>We both concur that the monkeypox outbreak is a serious worldwide public health concern right now. It's vital to keep in mind that symptoms of monkeypox can be unusual. There is no question that an individual patient could initially exhibit oropharyngeal and laryngeal symptoms.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0010">2</a> Identification of a suspected case of monkeypox is critical when there are clear clinical indications. While not having a fever, some persons may nevertheless have a noticeable skin lesion.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0010">2</a> To conclusively confirm the monkeypox infection, a molecular diagnostic is still needed. However, for laboratory testing, quality control is important. The existence of the incorrect laboratory investigation result needs to be acknowledged as the current issue.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0015">3</a> The current study may not be the first in the literature to describe a symptom of human monkeypox infection in the oropharynx or larynx.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0005">1</a> Monkeypox patients' initial symptoms, at least according to a previous report by Thornhill et al., can include pharyngitis, epiglottitis, odynophagia, and oral or tonsillar lesions.<a class="elsevierStyleCrossRef" href="#bib0020">4</a>Conflict of interestNone." It has become an important tool to be kept up to date. The Journal publishes Original Articles (articles on basic research and clinical investigation), reviews, brief communications, case studies and images, which are subjected to a rigorous peer review process.
