Recidiva de cáncer de mama en una paciente con reconstrucción mamaria

Presentamos el caso de una paciente mastectomizada hacía 7 años por neoplasia de mama y a la que 4 años después le fue practicada una reconstrucción mamaria por medio de implante, que tras estar libre de enfermedad ha presentado una recidiva subcutánea. Se le practicó exéresis de la recidiva y posteriormente radioterapia local. Se estudian las posibilidades de reconstrucción mamaria, el riesgo de recidiva posreconstrucción y se debaten las opciones terapéuticas a seguir en este tipo de pacientes.

We present the case of a patient who underwent mastectomy to treat breast cancer seven years ago and breast reconstruction involving implant. After being disease-free for six years and nine months, she developed a subcutaneous recurrent tumor. The lesion was completely removed and the patient was treated with local radiotherapy. We discuss the several types of breast reconstruction, the risks of postreconstruction recurrence and the therapeutic options in these cases.
