Summary

We present the clinical case of intravenous leiomyomatosis in a 38-year-old woman, who had previously had a total hysterectomy for a giant myoma in the uterus. One and a half years later she presented with a pelvic recurrence, despite 6 months triptoreline treatment. The retroperitoneal tumour required surgery, biopsies and bilateral adnexectomy by laparoscopy were carried out. One year later she presented with another recurrence.

We show the iconography of this rare case, review the literature, and discuss the management of these cases.
