This study aims to analyze the readiness of the ward participate in implementation of IPE.
MethodA qualitative study design was used and the participants were 9 head nurses who were interviewed by using FGD technique.
ResultsThe FGD results showed that there had been no communication between students from different professions namely medical, nursing and pharmacy due to their different schedules and followed only the instructions of their supervisors. Furthermore, only the nursing students interacted with nurses in the patient's room, as they followed the cycle of the room's activities, while medical and pharmacy students would leave immediately after their supervisors. Three themes were discovered in this study, namely the interaction between professions, different competency achievements and barriers in the implementation of IPE.
ConclusionThe ward is ready to facilitate the implementation of IPE even though there are still differences in student competency achievements.
