
The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between self-care management and the quality of life of chronic renal failure patients who undergo hemodialysis at Raden Mattaher Hospital Jambi. A cross-sectional study was conducted from August to September 2017.
MethodData were collected by using questionnaires that included questions on characteristics of demography, self-care management, and quality of life among chronic renal failure patients who undergo hemodialysis and was completed by 100 patients. Data analysis for this study was a chi-square test.
ResultsThe results of this study show that there is correlation between self-care management and quality of life of chronic renal failure patients who undergo hemodialysis with a p-value=0.031.
ConclusionsIt needs efforts to improve the quality of life of the client such as comprehensive and structured education and health care for patients who undergo hemodialysis.
