El emprendimiento ha cobrado interés para las escuelas de negocios desde la década de los ochenta debido a la relación con la creación y dirección de empresas, entre otras razones. El emprendimiento es un campo vasto que involucra diferentes tópicos como financiación del emprendimiento, características del emprendedor, emprendimiento corporativo, empresas de familia, reconocimiento de oportunidades, aprendizaje y emprendimiento social, entre otros. Esta revisión se enfoca en lo que representa el emprendimiento social, su constructo, importancia, características y tópicos para investigaciones futuras. Se revisaron 51 referencias bibliográficas, principalmente artículos publicados en revistas académicas en relación con el emprendimiento social a partir del año 2000 y hasta la actualidad. Este artículo, además de clarificar el constructo teórico de emprendimiento social e identificar sus características fundamentales, resalta la importancia del mismo para el desarrollo de países emergentes y su pertinencia en la política pública. Se presentan diferentes secciones dedicadas a sus aspectos fundamentales.

Abstract

Since the eighties, entrepreneurship has attracted the interest of business schools because of its role in creating and managing companies, among other reasons. Entrepreneurship is a vast field that involves a range of subjects such as startup financing, the entrepreneurial profile, corporate entrepreneurship, family businesses, opportunities recognition, training and social entrepreneurship. This review focuses on social entrepreneurship, its structure, importance, characteristics and subjects for future research. It was revised 51 bibliography references, especially articles published in academics journals, related with social entrepreneurship since year 2000 to present. There are different sections dedicated to fundamental aspects. This article not only clarify social entrepreneurship theoretical construct and identify its fundamental characteristics but also illustrates the importance itself for the emerging countries development and its public politics relevance.
