A 61-year-old male came to our clinic due to an erythematous plaque of 15 years' evolution located below the left breast. He reported that the lesion was completely asymptomatic. The patient had been exposed to arsenic due to his work in a foundry. Physical examination showed a solitary, asymptomatic, sharply delimited, scaly, erythematous plaque that was verrucous, fissured, and slightly pigmented at the periphery (Fig. 1). Histopathological analysis revealed keratinocyte atypia, including hyperchromatic nuclei, multinucleation, atypical mitotic figures, variable melanin, and lymphocytic infiltrate. The diagnosis was squamous cell carcinoma in situ, and he was treated with standard excisional surgery.
