Resumen

El paso de los años trae consigo una mayor frecuencia de aparición de enfermedades crónicas y una serie de cambios morfológicos y fisiológicos en diferentes aparatos y sistemas del organismo que caracterizan el fenómeno del envejecimiento. Esas enfermedades y cambios constituyen, en la mayoría de los casos, limitaciones de la capacidad de trabajo físico que reducen la capacidad de la persona envejecida para realizar actividad física o ejercicio.

Summary

The passing of time brings on a greater frequency of the appearance of chronic diseases and a series of morphological and physiological changes in different apparatuses and systems of the body that characterize the aging phenomenon. These diseases and changes constitute, in most of the cases, limitations in the capacity for physical work that reduces the aged person’s capacity to perform physical activity or exercise.
