Neuromodulation interventions, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation and transcranial electric stimulation, have several applications in experimental clinical psychopathology: they can be used either as investigative tools - in such cases, to causally modulate neuronal circuitry to modify cognition and behaviors - or therapeutic interventions, as add-on or augmentative approaches to standard therapies. In this context, there is great interest in using neuromodulation in different fields such as clinical and cognitive neurosciences, translational investigations, and psychiatry and neurology. This special issue brings together renown scientists from different disciplines to present their state-of-the-art research on the interfaces of modulating behavior using brain stimulation.
