En el presente artículo se analizan, en primer lugar, las causas que están provocando un cambio de perspectiva en la concepción que se tiene del sordo y de la sordera, y que a su vez está conduciendo a una cada vez mayor implantación de modelos educativos bilingües-biculturales. En segundo lugar, se describen algunas de las aproximaciones que podrían participar del término bilingüe-bicultural, se refieren los requisitos que deben cumplir para que sean consideradas como tales, y se presentan algunas experiencias a modo de ejemplo. Finalmente, se expone la situación actual en nuestro país.
In this paper first we analyze the reasons for the changes in the perceptions towards the deaf and the deafness –the same changes that are leading to the increasing implementation of a bilingual-bicultural educational models–. Secondly, we describe some approaches that allow us to use the term bilingualbicultural and the pre-requisites that need to he accomplished in order to consider this as such. We also present some examples based on experience. We finally present the current situation in our country.
